Irene and Manual Dubs have participated in Vintage Rallies since 2009, after they inherited a black Ford Mustang Convertible which Manuel’s mother bought in 1965 and drove until her passing in 2005.

After extensive restoration in 2007 and 2008 the car came into use for the first time at the Winter-RAID in January 2009.  Despite being placed in the latter half of the rankings Irene and Manuel were bitten by the rallye bug and have been keen participants ever since.  After many rallies in Switzerland and neighbouring countries, in 2015 they participated together in the long distance Rally The Road to Mandalay with a 1932 Rockne Six 75 which they drove from Singapore via Malaysia and Thailand to Myanmar.

In the following years Irene and Manuel participated in Vintage Rallies including the Classic Safari Challenge 2017, The Road to Saigon 2018, Adriatic Adventure 2019 and the Carrera Iberia 2019. Daily and illustrated reports from all these Rallies can be found under www.beltrona.ch/rallyes.

They are now about to embark on their biggest challenge! Around the world with 'Luigi' in a total of 80 days and over approx. 35'000km to raise money for a good cause.  While Irene and Manuel return home for a couple of months between stages, 'Luigi 'will be transported from the end of the first stage to the start of the next stage. During this time all the necessary repairs and servicing will have to be carried out, which requires extensive logistics and planning.

Only participants having completed all 3 stages with the same crew and the same car will be listed in the final ranking. Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well and help us to achieve our goal of a large collection.

Many thanks!
